Hey guys, my
shoulder is going good don't have any pain at all anymore. I am
only not aloud to move my arm more then a several degrees in the
air/sideways and twisting.. the physio is happy as well, cause
the movement is feeling good so everything on my shoulder is
going good :). For the rest I already started training again in
the gym (only my legs) and doing a bit of cycling on a spinner
as well.. Living in papendal (OTC) at the moment which is so
much better then traveling everyday back home etc.. We also have
2 new team mates in our team Jellie and Twan..
Finally
an update haha..!! In the main time I have been to Chula Vista
for a World cup which didn't go as planned crashed in the
warm-up before time-trails and used a injection for racing. I
still qualified for racing but at the day of the race it hurted
way more and the injection didn't work this time so wasn't able
to race.. I also have been to France for the last World cup
nothing much to say about, went out in the quarter finals and
dropped to the 8th place in the ranking.. For now I have holiday
till next week thursday (Oct 22) because then I have my surgery
on my shoulder and it will take about 4 months for recovery so I
will keep you guys posted how my recovery will go (will have a
boring 4 months) the last few days I have done alot of
motocrossing which is really fun, will go aswell tomorrow and
try to make some pictures/videos..

Haven't
Updated in a while but quit busy with some things at the
moment.. I am working on some little changes in my Website
picture and I added Twitter on my website, it is just below the
links page (I can update that from my I phone so keep checking
out my twitter and you find out what I am doing..) Last week
there was a big article in a Dutch newspaper I had Swine flu but
luckily I didn't have that :) some riders must have brought it
back home from Adelaide, well talking about Adelaide I haven't
done a update yet from that, I was feeling really good all day
long and had the feeling I was able to do good but in the semi
finale I hit the gate a little bit and missed my 2nd/3rd pedal
what pushed me to the back and after that everything went wrong
so I ended up in the semi. Leaving Sunday to
South Africa cant wait cause I've never been in Africa before so
really looking forward to that :)Swatch sended me
the picture today from the Photoshoot in Copenhagen..
Just back home
from Denmark round 15 & 16 of the European championships coming
into the event I was leading by just 3 points in front of Arnoud
Dubois. On Saturday I won all my motos and so did he we both
didn't lose a point until the final, in the final I had a pretty
bad gate and got shut down by Hamon straight out of the gate but
managed to finish in 5th but Arnoud finished in 3rd so that made
the points tie.. Sunday we both didn't lose a point again and in
the main I picked lane 1 with Arnoud on 2 and I got the best
gate of the weekend had a little bit of trouble coming over the
2nd jump and slipped a little in the first turn which messed up
my 2nd straight but I couldn't find Arnoud in front of me and
thought he must be some where close to me but he wasn't cause in
the last turn I found out he crashed on the first straight.. Roy
van den Berg won again. After this weekend I finally
can call myself the new 2009 European Champion..Top 3 in the overall ranking:1. Martijn Scherpen NED2. Arnoud Dubois BEL 3. Roy van den Berg NED

Again a super late
update haha.. well Norway went pretty good I felt good all
weekend and won almost all my qualifying rounds into the main. I
qualified first picked lane 2 cause I didn't like lane 1 and out
of the gate I hit Hamon and we battled but Nhlapo came from the
outside and took the win I finished 6th today which wasn't very
good!! Sunday I qualified again for the main and this time I
took the whole shot but on the third straight I don't know what
I was doing but jumped the 2nd jump way to high and Nhlapo past
me and I finished 2nd which was good only I should of hold the
lead and gone home with the win.. Right now I am at the Phillips
family's house to stay here till the race this weekend yesterday
I have riddden the track in Cheddar and it is pretty good :). Today
we are heading down to some trails.
I think you all heart about Sifiso Nhlapo. He crashed Monday
afternoon in Denmark and broke his c3 and c4. well Sifiso I wish
you all the best and a good recovery..

Hey guys, sorry I
am a bit late with my update from Belgium, but I guess you guys
used to it now haha.. well my weekend went pretty good on
Saturday I won all my motos and it was a pretty hard 1. I also
won my 1/8th, 1/4th and 1/2 final. In the final I had lane one
which was good only my gate was terrible and came in touch with
van der Biezen who was in lane 2 and we both almost crashed into
the first turn, there was a lot of more elbow action going on
and I finished 5th, moved up in the ranking to 2nd place..
Sunday I won everything again except for my 2nd moto where I
came unclipped at the gate and finished 6th. In the final I had
lane 1 again and believe it or not but had again a bad gate and
came in touch with Dubois this time al the way till the 2nd turn
where he crashed.. but today my result was better and finished
3rd and I took over the lead in the ranking for the European
title with just a few points.. so everything can still happen!!
Can't wait until Norway..!!
Last
weekend was the 2nd round of the Dutch series in Heiloo, the
track was changed a little bit with last year and it was pretty
good.. I qualified my self for the final and was in 2/3rd place
at the 3rd straight but made the move to 2nd only hit Roy (who
was leading) his backwheel and missed the turn and got 4th
place.. Also I got a New 4x bike a Ghost which feels great. I tested it at a local downhill track (as
far if you can call it a downhill track). This weekend will be
round 7 & 8 of the European championships in Belgium. I will
post some videos as soon as possible. Results from Heiloo. Elite men:1. Roy van den Berg2. Raymon van der Biezen3. Rob van den Wildenberg4. Martijn ScherpenRabo Sprint race:1. Raymon van der Biezen2. Martijn Scherpen
Last
few weeks have been busy, we started in Czech Republic the week
after was Italia and the week after that was Copenhagen for the
First World cup of the 09 season.. I started of the weekend with
a 17th place in time trial which was oke because I am not a
really good time trial rider.. My 1/8th final (motos) where
alright had a first, fifth and third place finish. I qualified
for the 1/4th final which I won with a great lap then my semi my
gate was bad but still managed to get 3rd in the first turn and
kept that position.. Then the Final I had lane 5 and my gate was
alright came again in 3rd place in the first turn and battled
with Nhlapo for 2nd, but Godet passed us. In the 2nd turn I did
a high-low passed both of them and came in 2nd place which place
i finished.. Ivo (Stan) van der Putten won the race with a
perfect lap in the final. For now we have some rest and no race
this weekend!

Last weekend was
European round 3 & 4 in Klatovy Czech Republic. In round 3 I won
my motos and qualified myself for the main event. The gate
dropped a bit slower than normal and I couldn't get a good gate. In
the final my gate was also not good and I got 6th. In round 4 I
made the main again. In the main my gate was all right, but I
didn't get perfectly over the first jump and lost some speed.
Out of the first turn I was in the 4th position. Came back till
the third position on the 3rd straight. But made a mistake and
fell back till the 4th position. Now I am currently in 4th in
the European ranking and 1 point behind the number 2 and 3 in
the ranking. Tomorrow I am leaving to Italia for European round
5 & 6, I will be trying to do some updates of the trip.
Hopefully the sun will be shining as it did in Klatovy, but the
expectations for this weekend are different.

Last
weekend was the '09 season kickoff in Zwolle, Friday we started with
our practice and the track was a bit soft so did a lot gates and
they where pretty good.. Saturday race day 1 my Moto's where pretty
good packed and in my first Moto I holeshot it and in the first
turn some Czech rider t-boned in my bike and we both went down. I
still passed my Moto's easy and came in the 1/8th, 1/4 and semi
final. After my semi final I was over it couldn't stay on my legs and
was thinking of not racing the main, but yeah it is the main you know
so raced it and had a good gate but at the first jump I came
unclipped and finished 8th. Day 2 was a lot better won my motos
passed easy the rest of my qualifying laps. In the main I took lane
7 and my gate was good again, unclipped again on the 3rd jump, but
clipped directly back in and came in 2nd place in the first turn
behind team mate Raymon v/d Biezen and was able to pas him in the
2nd turn and won round 2 of the European championship. because of my
bad first day I am in 3rd place now in the ranking. Picture: Rockstar
fridge packed with Rockstar energy drinks. Yes Roy I know you had
the picture on there before me..Some more race
pictures will follow later.
Today
I drove by Zwolle on the way back from Papendal and saw in
everystreet in the city a poster for this weekend racing with me in
the picture.. I also heart there will be some big TV coverages by
the NOS (biggest national sport channel) and the BBC (English sport
channel) so that is pretty cool. I cant wait till the race begins
and see who is on top of the list this year!
Being
back in France now since Wednesday.. I drove the car to here with
Ivo van der Putten, because everybody drove already once except
for the 2 of us, so it was our time now. It was a fun ride of almost
12 hours. But in the last mile we ran out of fuel so we called bas
to bring us a can of fuel. The weather here is great nice and sunny
and not to windy, so great weather for training. Tomorrow we are
going to Aix the provence to train with the France national team,
looking forward to it.. Picture from us in Monaco where we went one
day.
Sorry
guys! but my site has been offline for the last 2 weeks. I was
switching provider and there where some problems that's why it took
so long.. But in the main time I am back from the USA. I stayed there
for about 4 weeks and had a great time the last weekend was a race
in Oldsmar and I spent the weekend with Masa'hero' Sampei a friend
of Japan who was also at Joey's house and he is 1 of the most
funniest guys out there copying Mike Redman's commentating all
weekend long haha, But when I arrived in Florida I couldn't get a
rental car, because I was not 21 of age yet, so we (masa and me) took
the supershuttle to the hotel but still didn't have a car to go to
the track but some friendly BMX people gave us a ride to the track
and to dinner. We went to dinner with a lot of people/fam. like "Nyhaug,
Fields, Derosa, Willoughby etc.. thanks for giving us a ride
everyday.. Racing: I got out in the semi both days but I felt pretty good the
weekend only had bad gates in my semi! I am back home for about a
week now and been training a bit because the weather is pretty bad
its super cold and raining a lot. Next week I am going back to
France with the National team for our last training to prepare us
for the 09 season. Which will start 4th of
April in Zwolle. Picture: Me racing in
Oldsmar with our new 2009 team clothes.
Lots of fast riders
here in Lake Perris including the Olympic Gold Silver and Bronze
medalists. First day was the ABA race. Due the rain we had a 2 moto
system. I got 2nd in the first moto and a 1st in the second moto. In
the quarter final I slipped out of the gate, game back till fifth
place and tried to make speed for a qualifying spot but someone game
under need me and cut me of, so I was out. Second day was the UCI
race I qualified myself for the main event. In the main I wheeled
out of the gate and was in the back of the pack. Coming out of the
first turn I was in 4th and stayed in fourth till the finish line. Results UCI race day

The track
The last few days I
have been to 3 different tracks, 1 ABA track, 1 NBL track and a
track in someone's backyard. Also rode the trails again a few times,
the section with the big jumps was now ride able. Leaving today to
Lake Perris for the race of this weekend and might be going tomorrow
with Afro Bob to sheep hills to ride some more trails if it's not
going to rain. The weather has been good till now, but the
expectations for this weekend aren't. Tune in Saturday evening 8.30
PM Dutch time on
Go211.com to watch the race live.
Yesterday Gavin Lubbe, Joey, Jordi
and me went to the trails. The section with the big jumps was not
rideable and Joey worked on that. We hit up the other sections, some
pictures below. Last picture is from someone who was there and drove
his car back like that.
Last
weekend was the indoor in Kortrijk.. I felt pretty good before I
came there but when I arrived the track was pretty bad and didn't
want to ride anymore but I didn't go there for nothing so I decided
to ride and had a great weekend with 2 wins 1 on Saturday and 1 on
Sunday.. Now I am in the USA at the Bradfords house the weather is
really good and can't wait to train and do some races..

Kortrijk where they have both days races like the European rounds..
I will post some videos right after the mains on Saturday (and
Sunday when I am back home)
Sunday
we came back from a very hard trainings camp in St-Maxime, It was a
great 10 days beautiful weather and we couldn't expect better
weather.. Training self was hard I was pretty tired after those 10
days, While I was in France I Booked a Flight to the USA and will
stay for about 3/4 weeks by Joey Bradford. I also do 2 races 1 in
Lake Perris and 1 in Oldsmar! you can follow those races live on the
internet at GO211.com and of course updates from my trip at my
website.
Picture: Me racing the World
Championships in Taiyuan!
We are here in France now for about 4 days and
today was a easy day we only did a road ride, the first 3 days we
did some serious training we went to the bmx track and gym and did
some sprints. The weather is good it is about 10/15°c so a lot
better then back home :)!! we will stay here till Sunday and doing
some more hard training. We don't have internet at our apartment but
at the Mc-Donald's they have so going there a lot haha :)
Hey Guys, First update of
the year :) Happy new year to everyone and make it a good season,
I'll try to do some more updates from now on! We (the Dutch National
team) are leaving tomorrow to France "St Maxime" for a 10 day
training camp, Because it is snowing and freezing here in Holland
and we cant ride a track or even the road. For the rest I have some
new sponsors for the '09 season "NIKE 6.0" and "Rockstar Energy"
Pretty happy with sponsors like that..
